Happy Father's Day!

I wanted to extend a "Happy Father's Day" to all of the dads out there - especially John, my dad, his dad and my two brothers, Scott and Greg!

Unfortunately our plans to go to the NEW Zoo today were cancelled due to the rain. I blame the weatherman as he said it was supposed to rain yesterday and be sunny today. Had I known that wasn't the case, we would have celebrated Father's Day as a family yesterday. It appears as though we will be giving this a second attempt a week from today - again, weather permitting.

Since the weather dampened some of our plans today, it was decided that it would be best to just stay in this morning and entertain ourselves. John was able to get a little more sleep than normal which he completely deserved! Plus, our little lady also took part of her nap on daddy's chest which is always such a special moment. On second thought, I guess there wasn't too much entertaining going on!

Once Kate woke up, we headed over to Joe and Deb's house for appetizers and dinner. It was supposed to be an afternoon of outdoor yard games, but again, the weather didn't allow that to happen. It was still a wonderful day and many thanks to Joe and Deb for the food, fun and hospitality.

Finally, I just want to extend a special Father's Day wish to John. You are the best husband and the most wonderful father to Kate. A smile appears on my face daily just watching the two of you interact and a smile always appears on hers as you enter the room. Thank you for being the man in her life that she can lean on and look up to. I simply couldn't think of anyone better.

We both love you so much! Happy Father's Day!

Walking Kate!

Well, we can officially wave "bye-bye" to the days of kate crawling. She's been walking more and more each day and can now take 15-20 strides in a row. What's even more telling is that when she's 3-4 steps away from something, instead of crawling she prefers to stand up and walk the few steps. Our little lady is officially on the move. While the following video most certainly isn't how far she can go, you get the idea. Enjoy:
